The ambulance uses the tried and tested ‘prey versus hunter’ formula to carry the narrative forward. The story has everything from stressful confrontations to racial shootings. Which is to be expected from a film of this genre. However, the promising basis is to reach its potential because the writing is not as effective as it could have been. The ambulance begins with a well-run series that looks at the challenges faced by a war hero as he tries to save his wife’s life. There is a sense of urgency in the scene, which makes it easier for the viewer to relate to his or her plight. This, however, cannot be said about the fact that the film does not actually explore the intricate relationships between the main characters. As a result, the ambulance doesn’t really have a strong emotional core. It tries to make it with the action sequence. Some of the chase scenes given in the first half are well run and the story continues. A battle scene, set in an ambulance, is affected due to its biological intensity. It feels realistic rather than top-notch, which is quite remarkable considering the scale and style of the film. A scene involving a complex medical procedure hits hard because it is a bit serious.
